About

Dr. Blaire Lewis is a leader-practitioner and psychological strategist in clinical psychology passionate about therapy and care for individuals experiencing trauma. She invested in serving underrepresented communities while utilizing solutions to heal cycles of trauma, especially within the Black Community.

Combining her personal and professional goals, she has the privilege of treating the mental health needs of trauma survivors and addressing resulting community issues. Dr. Blaire has served as an executive consultant for various behavioral health clinics and community organizations, aiming to:

  1. Strategically increase access to mental health services within underserved communities,
  2. Effectively administer services by providing critical and timely care, and
  3. Efficiently adhere to professional standards and exceed regulatory measures.

Previously she worked with iSport Balance, LLC as the lead program developer. She renewed the clinical curriculum targeting youth and athletes while providing mental health support mingled with sports. Dr. Blaire aims to create spaces to grow by evoking internal reflection and change in practices, therefore influencing systems through training and consultation.

Before this, she worked in leadership within the Trauma Recovery Centers: Advocate Christ Medical Center, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, and Advocate Condell Medical Center. In addition, she has served in behavioral health since 2014 in various settings, including university counseling centers, psychiatric hospitals, and medical hospital systems. She has consistently provided direct and indirect clinical care and leadership support to her patients and team members.

Dr. Blaire is a problem-solver (or solutionist) and works from a solutions-based approach. For instance, at one point in her career, her team was experiencing high levels of tension due to the nation’s response to various social issues like the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota. To address these concerns, she and her colleagues developed a discussion-based group called ‘Diversity Speaks’. It offers a platform for collegial development by learning and discussing issues around Diversity and its impact on various facets of life, like the workplace, social environment, political movement, and international affairs.

Dr. Blaire holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Tuskegee University. Also, she earned her graduate degrees in clinical psychology from Adler University. At both of these universities, there was a focus on social issues and justice reform. This movement is the basis of her professional and personal practices. She promotes principles of psychology, inspires others, and seeks social equity. She believes true; long-lasting change is deeply rooted in all individuals that form viable communities!
